花了大筆學費到國外商業潛水，你不會懷疑證照沒效，對吧？其實最好的方式還是上IMCA查證各國、各系統間證照的認定。並且畢業後，拿到證照證號後到認可機構網站自行核查。
但是在美國CDA商業潛水訓練中心發生一件很扯的事。一位商業潛水員剛從CDA畢業並且投履歷找工作，但是當公司與NCCER(國家工程教育研究中心)查證證書時，那位潛水員的“基礎繩結固定合格”資料並不在系統裡。另外，NCCER只有基礎繩結，且並沒有提供CDA做繩結教學認證。
當查證CDA Allen Garber，他回覆說：『我們依照NCCER相同標準進行教育。』
換言之，那張證照上面寫的NCCER基礎繩結固定，只是CDA內部審查的結果，並不具有效力。
